Membership

If you wish to apply for a “Friend of Charterhouse” membership of the Golf Club, please do so by completing a ‘Membership Proposal’ form, a copy of which can be collected from the Charterhouse Club Reception or downloading here and posting it to the address opposite. Applications should be either proposed or seconded by an existing member of the golf club. If you are new to the area, we would be happy to introduce you to an existing member.

After the application has been considered and approved, you will be informed by the Hon. Secretary and sent the Rules of the Club. You will then be invited to pay the appropriate Joining Fee and Subscription.

“Friends of Charterhouse”

i) Times of Play

The course is open 7 days per week as follows:

Term time

  • Monday to Saturday – 7.00am to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm or dusk (whichever is the earlier)
  • Sundays – 7.00am to 9.00pm or dusk (whichever is the earlier)

Holidays

  • Summer – 7.00am to 9.00pm or dusk (whichever is the earlier)
  • Winter – Dawn or 7.00am (whichever is the later) to dusk

“Friends of Charterhouse” may play on the Course at any time when the course is not in use for School or other events.
As the course is used by the School pupils, there are some restrictions on playing times, but these are limited and predominantly afternoons. At all other times, Charterhouse pupils take precedence over “Friends” when teeing off.

ii) Teeing-off Times

Tees can only be reserved for School and other events, and Club Matches and Competitions. It is not possible for Members of the Golf Club to reserve individual teeing-off times. Play commences from the 1st Tee on a “first come – first play” basis, with pupils taking precedence.

iii) Joining Fee and Annual Subscription

On receipt of the Joining Fee and Subscription you will be sent a Bag Tag, Membership card plastic holder and yellow lanyard. The Bag Tag must be attached to your bag and visible at all times whilst on the course. Please ensure you wear the lanyard with your membership card on display at all times when in the car park and walking through the campus grounds. Lanyrds and cards do not need to be worn whilst playing but must be available for inspection at all times.

A membership application form can be obtained form the Charterhouse Club Reception or downloaded here.

iv) Guests
A Member may invite up to 3 guests to play with him/her at any one time. The Member is required to be present, and playing, with the guests and to purchase a Green Fee for each guest. These are on sale at Reception in the Charterhouse Club.
